Protection is adequate for typical use (we tested 2m drops successfully) but this isn’t for construction sites. The nylon canvas backing provides grip without stickiness, and the case wears gracefully.
Who it’s for: photographers, cyclists, and anyone who mounts their phone regularly.
Best leather: Nomad Sport Case
Horween leather is expensive, and the Nomad Sport Case doesn’t hide that fact. But if you appreciate materials that age, this is worth the premium. After six weeks of use, our test unit developed a rich patina that makes it feel personal.
The TPU bumper provides legitimate drop protection (we tested 3m drops), and the reinforced corners saved our test phone when it skipped down concrete stairs. MagSafe is robust, though not quite as strong as Mous.
One detail we love: the lanyard attachment point. It seems small until you’re at a festival and can hang your phone around your neck.
